Although mostly known for its lively open-air club, this restaurant within the Akti tou Iliou (Costa del Sol) beach complex offers a separate dining area as well as the golden opportunity to hang out with Athens's most beautiful people. Chef Nikos Kontomakros prepares a selection of Mediterranean dishes in the restaurant section, while the adjoining, fashionable Nalu Cafe is a popular all-day bar and cafe option right on the beach (you can even take a refreshing dip in the sea from the club's private beach). Even better: the dance floor is right there so your fun can continue uninterrupted after dinner. Live music performances are held on Thursday, Greek music parties on Friday, mainstream sound parties on Saturday. During the winter months Akanthus moves closer to the center of Athens, in the happening neighborhood of Gazi.
