Train Travel

It is quick and easy to get from Guangzhou to Shenzhen or Hong Kong by train. Rail service has come a long way, and the Guangzhou-Kowloon line is as easy as they come. The train features comfortable seats with ample leg space. Tickets can be purchased online in advance (www.it3.mtr.com.hk), from travel agents, or at the station. By the end of 2017 there will be a high-speed rail train that burrows under Hong Kong's Kowloon District, cuts through Shenzhen, and terminates in Guangzhou; this should cut travel times between the two major hubs considerably.
